published author

Published author in the making, my friends. People say you should work in silence, but I think it’s also great to share your ambitions with loved ones. For those of you unaware, I have been struggling to build a writing career for a couple of years now. I didn’t realize that for me to have a career, I’d actually have to write. Many people say you shouldn’t make fun of other authors their work, especially if they’ve become millionaires! But, if E.L. James can write Fifty Shade of Shit Grey, I have to be able to finish a novel as well. I’m not talking about sales figures here, just the concept of finishing a novel.

Why do I dislike Fifty Shades of Bullshit Grey? I have no idea where to start, so I’ll just keep it simple. My interest was piqued when I heard the book was inspired by my FAVORITE novel, Twilight. Now, there are many people who also dislike Twilight, to each its own. When I read books, those books usually don’t turn into unidentified flying objects, but… sigh. I think I read 60% of the book, then threw it across the room. In this modern day and age, when one can Google anything and EVERYTHING, NO ONE IS AS STUPID AS ANASTASIA! Unless they’re living under a rock or banned from using modern technology (and have no friends). Then yes, one CAN be THAT stupid! (*enunciating like Chandler Bing, LOL*)

In order to become a published author, I have to take my work seriously. I need to start thinking of myself as a business.

Guess what I just did? I registered with HootSuite! My problem is updating my blog and other social media profiles. There are times when I’m SWAMPED with homework, work, or just tired of all the Chinese characters. After reading and writing them all day, I sometimes get a bit dizzy. I kid you not. Then I just want to relax with some Investigation Discovery series, watch how they catch The Killer. Since I’ve been binge watching these series, I really don’t trust as easily anymore. The Killer is real and can be someone we know. Everyone is a suspect, LOL!

The road to becoming a published author isn’t easy. We all have the many notebooks we write stuff in. Most of which we never end up using. Well, at least I do. I have a TON of these bach home in Suriname.

One step at a time, I am coming closer to realizing my dream of becoming a published author. Sometimes during class, I’m outlining my novel, instead of listening to my teachers ranting in Chinese.

As of today, all of my posts will be scheduled by HootSuite. It will save me a lot of time. Many authors have recommended this before, but I guess I wasn’t ready to take my writing career seriously yet. Do I want to become a millionaire from my writing? Yes, I do. But even if that doesn’t happen, I would like to be able to earn enough to relax. I love to write and I would like to share my active imagination with the world. Is it my goal to stop working altogether, and be a full-time writer? Again, the answer is “YES.” I’m thinking of a future where Rede Globo turns one of my books into a telenovela. I LOVE BRAZILIAN NOVELAS!

Stay tuned for more! Promise me you will work on making your dreams a reality as well! <3

PS: It just dawned on, though I don’t like the Fifty Shades Sage, she deserves credit. But Kim Kardashian? If she can put out a book, ANYONE can!
