Writing Every Day Now – Author Life

Writing every day has been my way of life for the past few weeks. I entered a writing competition and I have yet to write a single word. Right now I am 75% through the Pre-Write exercises. Before I read a very informative blog Well-storied, I did not know this was a thing. If you are new to writing and also do not know this was necessary, DO click on the link. Well-Storied is full of amazing and useful articles that can help you out a lot. I recommend this site to anyone who does not know where to start and needs some guidance.

I bought some of her workbooks, and I have to say this: DO NOT buy The Novel Planner. You can plan your novel all by yourself, you need not pay almost US$30 for pages that look like a calendar and space for you to update your progress. Just use a real calendar for that… unless you want to. Then, by all means, buy it.

I never thought I would enjoy writing every day so much, but I do. The other creative writing projects I am working on are also coming along great.

I wanted to take a picture of my desk, my notebooks, and highlighters, but I like this picture much more. It is better for me to write everything longhand. No idea why, but I just have the idea that my creativity is unleashed when I hold a pen in my hand and actually write.

Another helpful book is K.M. Weiland, her book for authors called 5 Secrets Of Story Structure. Finding out the difference between the inciting incident and the key event was a real eye-opener.

I am thankful for these guides and books that authors who want to help other authors created.

If you are looking for a guide to creating unforgettable characters, click here to buy Kristen from Well-Storied her Crafting Incredible Characters Workbook.

Last, but not least… Are you in need of two superb books to outline your book(s)? K.M. Weiland her book for upcoming (and established) authors Outlining Your Novel: Map Your Way To Success, and the workbook were a significant help to me.

I must admit some exercises bored me to death, but the time spent doing them was worth it.

It took me two weeks and two notebooks to complete all the exercises, but I am happy with the results.

Good luck with writing your next novel!

xoxo

I am grateful & blessed to have the life I live. (Soon to be) Traditionally published & self-published author in her mid-thirties. I unsuccessfully tried changing this picture numerous times, so I just left it. I wish you lots of love & may you get what you need. <3
