So Long For Now, My Fair Ladies!

So long, my dear friend! First the Bella left, now another friend has gone back home. In other news, I’ve also been planning some stuff for September when I come back from vacation. It’s been really hectic. I haven’t had much time to actually sit down to write something. Bad, I know, especially since I’m in the beginning stages of the blogging game.

The Bella left in May, now Mauris is gone, too.

Mauris was one of my colleagues at the new place I’m teaching English. We met in January when I had to do a demo with her and a few other teachers. It wasn’t a good first impression. Luckily, I’m charming (LOL), and they ended up hiring me, anyway.

At first, I didn’t know what to think of her. In my experience, Chinese women aren’t as open to Western women. Topics about “sex” are off limits, so there’s nothing really interesting to talk about over a glass of wine or a cold Heineken (in my case. I don’t drink wine). So, I had no idea how to relate to her.

This was the second time we met, and I am so sad we didn’t spend more time together. Sucks to say “so long for now.”

She worked a lot, I worked and I studied. Because of this, we didn’t have a lot of time to see one another. When she invited me for lunch a week ago, I was very happy to spend time with her. We ended spending the entire day together! We were together from 13:19 until 22:00! It has been a while since I’ve had such a connection with another female! We talked about so many thing, and we never got bored! WOW!

My Drink! I don’t know the name, but it was some lemony-minty drink

so long

My Italian lunch! It was pretty good! The other Italian restaurant I know, La Strada 22, is EXPENSIVE and not that good… at all.

It is only “so long” for a few months. We’re planning to take a trip together next year, something we both need to save up money for. I loved our conversations and I hope our friendship will be a long-lasting one.

Our dinner! I have no idea what type of food it is, I think from ChengDu. The pic is too pretty, didn’t want to put my yellow bar with my name on it.

I’ve had my share of friends here, found their devotion to me a bit questionable. One friend could only attend my birthday dinner if I moved it to Xiamen Island, which is an hour away from Jimei. Why? She had exams the following day. She has been great to me at other times, but that really made me wonder… Hmmm.

Anyway, to Mauris! I love her so and will keep in touch!

I am grateful & blessed to have the life I live. (Soon to be) Traditionally published & self-published author in her mid-thirties. I unsuccessfully tried changing this picture numerous times, so I just left it. I wish you lots of love & may you get what you need. <3
