As a writer and blogger, I know the difficulty that comes with thinking up or creating new content. There are times I cannot think of a single thing to write, but because I have some loyal readers, I am aware that they expect to read something every Tuesday and Thursday. We bloggers and writers are PLENTY, so we can get inspired by others’ work, that is normal. What I think is abnormal and completely disrespectful is plagiarism. Reposting someone else their work on your blog/website without crediting the source is not cool and a big NO-NO in my book. If another blogger, or what-have-you, decides to repost someone else their site, the source should be credited. We are all writers and bloggers (sometimes) struggling to create content, and to have someone infringes on another Creative their intellectual property, well then that just gets me super irritated.

How did I suddenly decide to write a post on Monday about plagiarism? Well, keep reading, please.

Though I am not in China, I still use their social media apps. One of my favorites to keep in touch with friends is WeChat (微信). There I was minding my own business when I received a notification that an online magazine (or whatever it is), MicroCHN, published a new article. When I saw their featured image, I was like: “HOLD THE FUCKING PHONE! Did they just repost a Bright Side article from two weeks ago?”

As a fellow creative, I also get inspired by others’ blogs. But come one! At least credit the source.

Like I have said before, we all go through moments where we are uninspired to write, cannot create content. And then up comes someone who reposts your article/blog post on their own platform, as if it is their own creation. Here is the link to the article on their app:

I took some screenshots from the article, then guess what else I did? I commented and asked them if they credited the source.

The video on Bright Side’s YouTube channel, I did not watch that. But I did see the same picture with more or less the same title.

I received a message that they published my comment on their site, but when I checked… it was not there. So I wrote a new comment. Just now I checked it again, and they still have not published them. The comments are not visible on the site, but on the app for your phone. Below I will add the video Bright Side uploaded two weeks ago on October 26, 2019.

So, I downloaded the video to my laptop but it is too big to upload here. Guess what I will do? Below is the link, click on it and it will take you to the video.

Until next time, stay positive and spread love! <3

I am grateful & blessed to have the life I live. (Soon to be) Traditionally published & self-published author in her mid-thirties. I unsuccessfully tried changing this picture numerous times, so I just left it. I wish you lots of love & may you get what you need. <3
