Bonding with the Cousins

The first month back home I spent sleeping. I had no idea how tired I was from all of the stress I was under the months before. Still, I would not change anything that happened to me, nothing at all. Everything happened the way it happened for a reason, I strongly believe that. I am thankful to everyone who played a part in my life, it does not matter if their presence in my life left a bitter aftertaste in my mouth. Those experiences were needed to get me where I am today and to where I want to go. The past weekend I did some much-needed bonding with my cousins.

I loved spending time with them and enjoyed reconnecting again. Bonding is an essential part of keeping relationships alive & healthy.

It was November 2, my Twin Cousin her birthday. We used to lie to people A LOT! People often confused the two of us, LOL! I had not seen her since I had been back, had spoken to her via WhatsApp a few times, but that was it. She invited me to go out with her and her sister on her birthday, and I gladly accepted. I have been in great spirits the past couple of weeks, so why not go out and enjoy myself?

De Dijck is located in the old Subway building in the Paramaribo North. Do not know why it closed down… but if I had to guess… probably because their sandwiches were too expensive. And that area is an area known for music, alcohol, more alcohol, and some more alcohol. Subway did not fit in that neighborhood. I ‘discovered’ the new establishment when I came back home, then I met a charming young man who works there. We have become very good friends and I cannot imagine my life without him. Do you know those people who are who they are under every single circumstance? And, they also do what they say, no matter what? He is that type of friend.

A good and healthy friendship is the foundation for everything.

I had THE TIME OF MY LIFE! It was a great night and I enjoyed myself after a very long time. Pretty sure we will go out again, probably around the end of the year… or maybe I will not go. I am not a fan of crowded places, so… that is not my scene. But we shall see because I am feeling great!

What do I think of the food there? I have not had dinner there, but the snacks were not bad. The onion rings I did not like so much, they were made with the red (or is it purple???) onion, and they were not fried well. So they were a bit too sweet and oniony for my taste.

It is always great when we meet each other and catch up. Some of us have children now, but to me, we are all still the same people we were back then. Nothing has changed! <3

I wish all of you the same amount of love (and more) I am experiencing at the moment. Until next time, stay positive and spread love! <3 And get rid of energy vampires, block their asses!

I am grateful & blessed to have the life I live. (Soon to be) Traditionally published & self-published author in her mid-thirties. I unsuccessfully tried changing this picture numerous times, so I just left it. I wish you lots of love & may you get what you need. <3
