Amazing Feedback from my Beta Readers

Beta readers are a must-have for every author. It so happens I have some of the best! The deadline is around the corner! If you do not know what beta readers are and do, click here to learn more about that. I entered a writing competition and I am glad to say that I finished my novel. When I started writing it, I hoped it would be a novel. But about five to six chapters into it, I realized it just might end up being a novella. It was also around that time that I had this uneasy feeling about the turn my story had taken, so I printed it out, reread it, and ended up rewriting the ENTIRE story!

I think I did this about a month ago, I cannot remember the exact time. But I am so proud of the story that I created afterward.

I sent the second draft of the novel to my beta readers and man! I am speechless!

Although I have not heard back from all of them, I am over the moon! Some of the feedback is priceless.

As an author, it is so fucking priceless to have a consumer of my art tell me how they identify with the protagonist, how they feel as if the story is about them, and that they loved every single chapter of the book!

I am breathing life into my stories! <3

It meant everything to me to hear some of the feedback from my beta readers. The most amazing thing one of them told me is that none of the chapters are boring or just, you know, there to meet the word count. She said that every single word on all 250 pages serves a purpose, and she loves the book!

I am so humbled by their feedback! <3 Of course, I write because I want it to be how I feed myself, but I also want to publish stories that empower people to take certain life-changing decisions.

My readers have made my entire year!

Their reactions affirmed that I am doing the right thing. This is one of the things I have to do with my life. I knew that when the year started, of course. But I was not always sure. Now… I am 1000% sure that it is the right choice.

A stranger who read my memoir earlier this year told me that reading my memoir inspired her to reapply for a scholarship. She always wanted to study abroad, applied to different scholarships from different countries FOR FIVE YEARS! None of then worked out. But after she read my memoir, she said it gave her new hope, and she tried again. Six months later, she is now studying in Maastricht! She got a scholarship!

This is what I want to do. I want to write books that will be relevant decades from now because they touch on subjects we all go through. If I can inspire someone to make positive changes in their lives… wow!

Of course, I will write tons of books that are not at all inspirational because I have different sides to me. But yeah… I have found what I will do for the rest of my life.

May you find what you are looking for, what you need, and will make you happy. I am doing that right now.

xoxo

I am grateful & blessed to have the life I live. (Soon to be) Traditionally published & self-published author in her mid-thirties. I unsuccessfully tried changing this picture numerous times, so I just left it. I wish you lots of love & may you get what you need. <3
