About Me

Who am I?

What is there to say about me? For starters, my name is Tiara Ray.  Born and raised in the Caribbean, I am a multi-lingual lover of life and all that is positive. I have one older sister and I am proud to say I am that aunt of a beautiful little girl. In my country I was a freelance Language Trainer. In search of a new adventure, I decided it was time to learn something new. That’s how I ended up studying Chinese (Mandarin) in China.

I bet you are wondering why I chose Chinese. The answer to that question is two-fold: as I stated above, I was in search of a new adventure. The predictability of my days and nights drove me crazy. That is one of the most important things you need to know about me: I am allergic to predictability.

Yours Truly – It’s a kiss I’m blowing you, it’s not a duck mouth!

I combined my personal blog and author blog. Maintaining the both  of them was quite exhausting. Don’t worry, you won’t get confused. My debut novel is almost finished, so please stay tuned! Oh, in case you’re wondering, I’m now part of the Natural Hair Movement. The water in China is full of chlorine, so my hair broke A LOT!

Two of my hobbies are writing in my journal and learning foreign languages. The journals started out as a form of therapy, but now I use them to document my life. I think it will be something great to leave my children (as soon as I have a few). I speak seven languages, but I am fluent in four. Challenging myself is part of my daily routine. Part of that challenge, is working with two Cultural Anthropologists. It’s more of an adventure. I’m thankful they allow me to join them on their journeys, because they have taught me so much.

Unfortunately, there’s only so much I can tell you about myself. If you want to know more, you will have to read my blogs.

One last thing I can tell you about myself, is that I am a firm believer in change. No matter what stage you are at in life, there is always room for growth. Experience teaches me daily that no matter what one believes of oneself, one can always change. Choice is the beauty of each sunrise, so choose to make your life beautiful.

Much love to you all!
